By accessing the website members could be then appraised of the availability of the online journals which could be accessed by a password once the server is recognized by the various journals

Dr. N.Khandelwal raised the point of transfer of bank accounts from Dr.P.N.Jayakumar from the NIMHAS, Bangalore Office. Dr. Rakesh Gupta assured the house that he would speak to Dr. Jayakumar so that the necessary books could be transferred to the current office bearers.

Membership drive : Dr. N.Khandelwal informed the house that initially 16 life members were affiliated to the ISNR which rose to 40 at the Bangalore Conference and since then 31 life members have registered with the society. He also re-affirmed that there would be a concentrative drive to get more members to join the society.

Constitution of the ISNR : Dr. N.Khandelwal raised the point that the original constitution and the original documents relating to the registration of the society is currently not available. Copies of the constitution should be available to all those who require the same, it was resolved by the General Body that the President and the Secretary should be empowered to ask the previous executive to handover the original documents. Dr. N.K.Mishra was requested to ask on behalf of the society to ask Dr. Jayakumar to handover the essential documents as mentioned above with the deadline i.e. 31/12/2002.

Income tax Exemption : Dr. N.Khandelwal appraised the house about the income tax exemption. He informed the house that income tax exemption could be granted only if there is a full documentary proof of the society and its charter.

Transfer of bank accounts : Dr. N.Khandelwal requested the house that the account books have not been transferred from Dr. P.N. Jayakumar to the current executive. He also informed the house that Dr. Harsh Mahajan had promised that he would transfer the amount due to the ISNR from the Delhi conference. Dr. Rastogi was requested by the chair to ask Dr. Mahajan to do the needful.

Associate Life Membership : There were many requests from neurologists, neurosurgeons and neuroanesthetics to become members of the ISNR. There is a provision of Associate Life Membership of the Society and this was conveyed to the house by Dr. N.Khandelwal who wanted to clarify the status of these members. It was resolved that Associate Life Membership would have all the facilities as a Life Member of the Society without voting rights. However, the constitution of the society needed to be amended in this regard for which a copy should be circulated to all the members.

It was also suggested by the one of the members of the meeting that Life Members registering in a particular year shall be allowed a one time waver of the registration fees of the next conference as an incentive.

Website accessibility : It was pointed out that the website showed that the previous executive was still listed despite election of the current executive members. Dr. Rakesh Gupta informed the house that since the key to the website is currently with Dr. Jayakumar, no action could be taken in this regard.

Credentials of invited speakers : Dr. N.K.Mishra raised the point of the credentials of the invited speakers of the conferences of ISNR. He said in the past and in the current conference several invited speakers from abroad did not turn up and it reflected on the seriousness with which the society is taken as an entity. He suggested that the organizers of a particular conference should forward the list of invited speakers to a select committee of members of the ISNR for information as scrutiny. The invited guests should be requested to convey to the society there inability to attend the conferences in light of the reasons stated there of at least 3 months prior to the conference so that alternate arrangement could be made. This would ensure that the conference would be organized more efficiently and intelligently.

Online registration of the society : It was suggested by the President Dr. Rakesh Gupta that the society could affiliated itself with others society so that they could have access to journals and website of the guest society. For this the house felt that the ISNR website therefore needed to be galvanized so that such a measure could be taken. It was thus re-iterated that Dr. Jayakumar should be requested to handover the keys of the website.

Asia Pacific Society for Therapeutic and Interventional Neuroradiology : Dr. Harsh Mahajan had informed the house that the above society would like to holds its meeting in 2006. It was resolved that the above society should communicate with the ISNR for holding such a meeting as it would be best that the society should collaborate with the ISNR rather than an individual. As a corollary affiliations of the ISNR and the societies of Asia Pacific and Asia Oceania regions need to be explored.

Honorary Membership : It was discussed at length that an Honorary Membership should be given to the eminent neuroradiologist and neurointerventionalist. It was suggested in the next conference by Dr. N.Khandelwal that Dr. Michael Huckman and Dr. Luc Picard would be thus honored.  Dr. N.K.Khandelwal said that local hospitality would be provided to these eminent scientists and their cost of travel would be defrayed.

Theme of the conferences : Dr. Khandelwal and Dr. Rakesh Gupta both were of the opinion that the ISNR conferences should be based on a theme and half a day of the conference should be devoted to that particular theme. The theme should be topical and should be of interest to both practicing neuroradiologists and residents.

Funding of residents to conferences : It was suggested by Dr. Arun Gupta, that residents should be encouraged to attend the conferences and a corpus should be set a side so that at least train fares could be given to residents presenting papers in the conference.

Orating in the memory of Dr. Prashant Shetty : Dr. N.Khandelwal had met Dr. Ravi Ramakantan regarding this oration. It was requested that Dr. Srikant Desai should meet with Dr. Ravi and sort out the details of pursuing this point.
